The Little Drummer Boy (originally called Carol of the Drum) is a popular Christmas song written in 1941 by the American classical music composer Katherine Kennicott Davis.
In the lyrics the singer relates how, as a poor young boy, he was summoned by the Magi to the Nativity of Jesus. The song has since been covered by numerous artists including A capella group Pentatonix and Justin Bieber.
In 1981, German group Boney M. recorded a version of the song which appeared as the opening track on their Christmas Album.
